The foot and ankle forms a part of the lower limbs in vertebrates which help in their locomotion. The foot part bears the entire weight of the body. Ankle, which is termed as talocrural joint is the part where the foot and leg meets. The foot forms the major part as all the muscles from the lower limb is attached to foot. In nature, the human foot is designed with two longitudinal arched, which is supported by a transverse arch that forms the shape of the bone and the ligaments. Ankle Fracture is a break of 1 or more ankle bones. A fracture might be complete or partial break of bone. It is diagnosed by X-rays. Treatment is done two methods, Non- surgical treatment and other one is surgical treatment. For some ankle fractures surgery is needed to repair the fracture. Hammertoe is a deformity of the toe in which toe becomes upward in the middle and bent downward at the end. Hammertoes usually start out as mild deformities and get progressively worse over time. The main causes of hammer toe are the shoes that don’t fit properly, foot injuries, rheumatoid arthritis. The toe contains two joints that allow it to bend at the middle and bottom. A hammertoe occurs when the middle joint becomes dislocated. Avoid wearing shoes that are small and narrow. For treatment of hammer toe you should seek medical advice.

Mostly all the people’s feet points straight ahead but in some people the feet point inwards. This is called intoeing or pigeon toes. Intoeing is most common in young children.
