Biography

Dr. Emil Annabi, M.D is an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology and Director of Chronic Pain Management at the University of Arizona. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Texas at El Paso. He attended medical school at Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico and then received his Certificate of Fifth Pathway Completion from New York Medical. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and continued on to a residency in Anesthesiology at Texas Tech University before transferring to the University of Arizona. Dr. Annabi completed a Pain Medicine Fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Beth Israel Hospital. During this one-year fellowship, he trained under seven pain management specialists from the fields of neurology, psychiatry, orthopaedic surgery, and anesthesiology.

The receptor specificity of propofol and fospropofol, Transforaminal Blood Patch for the Treatment of Chronic Headache from Intracranial Hypotension, Application of Peripheral Nerve Stimulation for the Treatment of Trigeminal Neuralgia, Subdural intrathecal catheter placement, Intrathecal Microdosing, Hemoglobin based oxygen carriers, and A Comparison of Transcutaneous PCO2 Levels, Sedation Levels, and Pain Scores in Post-Surgical Opioid Naïve and Opioid Tolerant Patients in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit.
