The Prader-Willi syndrome is a rare genetic syndrome, resulting from an abnormality in chromosome 15, and is characterized by severe childhood obesity, short stature, behavioral disturbances, intellectual disability, and severe hyperphagia. The patients are at increased risk of sudden death, and elevated inflammatory markers, premature atherosclerosis, increased systolic blood pressure and abnormal microcirculatory responses, could have an important contribution.
