Abstract

Here we demonstrate a simple but robust interferometry scheme that connects an ultra-high quality factor whispering gallery micro cavity to a FC/PC connectorized mode fibre. With this scheme, single Polystyrene beads with a radius as small as 25 nm can be detected at a signal-to-noise of around 3.
