Kings College London is a public educational research university located in London and was established in the year 1829. The founder of the college is King George IV. Kings College is a world-leading university, currently ranked 16th in the world in the 2014 QS World University Rankings and is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, the European University Association, the Russell Group and Universities UK. It forms part of the golden triangle of British universities. The government of the College was organized in a council consisting of nine official governors, five of whom were clergymen, eight life governors, a treasurer, and 24 other members of the Corporation.
Kings College was so named to indicate the patronage of King George IV, in response to the theological controversy surrounding the founding of ""London University"" which later became University College London in 1827. Kings is based in the Centre of London and organized into nine academic schools, spread across four Thames-side campuses in central London and another in Denmark Hill in south London. The university also offers post graduate and under graduate programs.
It was also 38th in the World and 7th in the UK for graduate employability in Emerging Associates and Tredences Global Employability University survey of international recruiters. Kings was also named The Sunday Times University of the Year in 2010/2011.
