Midwestern University founded in 1922 which is an American non-profit graduate and professional school and it is one of only four independent universities in texas. Midwestern University grown from a local junior college to a regional state university. In 1922 the midwestern university named as Wichita Falls Junior College witch is the second municipal junior college in Texas. At the time of world war II, changes occured in the cooleges mission and in its name, in 1948 the university college became a member of the Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. In January 1950, the name changed to Midwestern University. by the action of 56th Legislature of the State of Texas the Midwestern University became a part of Texas Colleges and Universities System Now the university became a state university with 250 acres campus and 70 buildings.University offering the variety of academic programs in liberal and fine arts, mathematics, sciences, business, and applied sciences. this is the only university in texas is a member of the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges (COPLAC). Out of 5,870, under graduates are 5,193, graduates 677. the enrollment of the students represent 45 states and 53 from foreign countries. the university will provides 46 under graduate, 25 are the graduate programs The university was recently recognized U.S. News and World Reports list of "10 Public Schools with the Cheapest Out-of-State Tuition."
