Established in 1964, the University of Basrah is located in the city of Basra, Iraq. Though initially affiliated with University of Baghdad, it is now an independent body. The motto of the university is “ And say: My Lord! Increase me in knowledge” . The University comprises of fourteen colleges situated across three campuses which include the Northern campus, Southern campus, Medicine and Dentistry campus. The University demeanors research through its many research centers like Iranian studies center, Marine Science center, Basrah studies center, Date palm research center and many more.
