The University of Haifa was established in the year 1963 by the mayor of Haifa Abba Hushi. The university is public research university located in Mount Carmel, Haifa, Israel. It was the sixth academic institution and fourth university in Haifa. It has about 18000 students currently constituting graduate and undergraduate students. The university is majorly divided into 6 faculties. The university is home for Hecht Museum of archeology and art. The university hosts large number of IBM research centres in its campus.
