The University of Indonesia was founded in the year 1849 which is a state university in West Java, Indonesia, Central Jakarta, Jakarta, Indonesia. The university is one of the most prestigious universities in the country of Indonesia along with two other universities. It is also one of the oldest tertiary level educational institutions in Indonesia.
At present the university has about 48000 students and an academic staff of about 7300 members. The university consists of about thirteen faculties which provides undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate courses.The rector of the university was Prof. Dr. Ir. Muhammad Anis M.Met. The university is located in 890 acres.
