"Abundant protein in the amyloid deposits of the eyelid, conjunctiva and orbit was a single light chain immunoglobulin. The Ig lambda light chain accumulated in specimen 2 and 3 of the eyelid amyloid deposits while Ig kappa light chain was the most abundant protein in eyelid specimen 1, conjunctival and orbital amyloid deposits as disclosed by the emPAI-based molar fraction of the enriched protein in the amyloid deposits when compared to control tissue. Besides Ig light chains, apoE and SAP were abundant components of the amyloid deposits compared to control tissue (supplementary), correlating well with other findings where apoE and SAP has been shown to interact.
