Gene Technology is one of the best journals in modern Biotechnology. All the contents published in the journal are very interesting and new in the branch of modern Biotechnology. The aim of the journal is to provide all the latest information of the associated fields.
It mainly deals with expression of genes, taking advantage of natural genetic variation, modifying genes and transferring genes to new hosts.
The eukaryotic chromosome is linear, with a centromere and telomere. The chromosome replicates from the origin of replication during the S-phase of the cell cycle. The centromere proteins, CENP-A,-B, and -C, located in the centromere sequence, assist with assembly of the kinetochore complex during the M phase. Then, the spindle fiber is attached to the kinetochore, and the chromosome is distributed to both poles. In this way, replicating chromosomes are distributed to daughter cells, and the genomic information of a mother cell is stably transmitted to daughter cells. Physiologically, the same mechanisms are used for the replication and distribution of HAC vectors.
