Sensory Integration Therapy

Sensory Integration Therapy is the mainstream clinical approach to treating Sensory Integration Disorder. This type of therapy is usually performed by an occupational therapist or physical therapist who takes patients through a series of sensory and motor skill exercises.

Sensory integration therapy is an innate neurobiological problem and refers to integration and interpretation of sensory stimulation from the environment by the brain. It focusses on three things i.e tactil, vestibular and proprioceptive basic senses. This therapy helps to provide sensory information which helps to organise the nervous system, to assist individuals in inhibiting or modulating sensory information.
