Cytokine array

A microarray is a multiplex lab-on-a-chip. It is a 2D array on a solid substrate that assays large amounts of biological material using high-throughput screening miniaturized, multiplexed and parallel processing and detection methods.

Many biological processes such as apoptosis, inflammation, angiogenesis, immune response and migration often accompany chenges of cytokine expression levels. Because of the extensive cross talk between cytokines, a complete analysis of biological responses and functions must be obtained through multiplex assays.
