Biography
Dr. Mirko Diksic is currently working as a Professor in Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery at Mc Gill University, Canada. He did his MSc and PhD from the University of Zagreb, Zagreb, Croatia. He has been been honoured with various scholarships, Membership in Professional Associations. He is a Refree, Research Reviewer, Editorial Board Member for various journals. At Mc Gill University he was Commitee Member of Acting Radiation Safety Officer; MNI/H (1999-2000), Member and Chairman of the Radiation Safety Committee (1979-2010). His major areas of research interest includes: evaluation of the brain serotonergic system in humans using positron emission tomography and in animals using autoradiography, development of new biological models for brain protein synthesis with special emphasis on brain tumors. His publications include 260 papers published in refereed journals, 280 abstracts, 149 invited lectures, and 8 review articles in refereed journals. He is a coeditor of a book.

Development of new biological models for brain protein synthesis with special emphasis on brain tumors, Study of the brain serotonergic and dopaminergic systems in animals and humans, Measurement of brain pathophysiological variables in humans using PET and animals using multi-tracer autoradiography, Development of new synthesis for radiopharmaceuticals labelled with short-lived positron emitting radionuclides.
