Biography

Over the past five years, the main focus of my research has been to find better solutions for health-related problems. Primarily, I have worked on the development of new biomaterial-based implants for bone repair and/or regeneration and I’ve performed extensive anti-bacterial assays, in vitro cell culture assays, and in vivo animal studies. I have hands-on experience in the synthesis of various nanoparticles such as carbon-based (carbon nanotubes-CNTs, reduced graphene oxide-rGO, and quantum dots -C-dots) and inorganic-based nanoparticles -mesoporous silica nanoparticles. In addition, I am well trained in various techniques of fabricating biomaterials such as 3-D bioprinting, electrospinning, lyophilization, hydrogel preparation, and techniques of biomaterials characterization such as Transmission electron microscopy -TEM, scanning electron microscopy- SEM, Fourier transform infrared spectrometry-FTIR, goniometry, universal testing machine - UTM, and Thermogravimetric analysis - TGA-Differential scanning calorimetry - DSC. Furthermore, I am well versed in mammalian cell culture studies and bacterial cell culture studies including toxicity studies, cell attachment assay, scratch wound assay, and microscopic analysis. Furthermore, I have experience in in vivo animal studies and pathological assays.

Research Interest

Biomaterial fabrication: Electrospinning, Freeze drying, Solvent casting, Hydrogel preparation.

• Characterization techniques: SEM, TEM, FTIR, TGA, DSC, UTM, Porosity, Swelling.

• Biological techniques: In vitro cell culture, Cytotoxicity studies, RT-PCR, CAM assay, 3D Printing.
