The foods we consume provide the essential nutrients needed for the proper functioning of the immune system [1]. Vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and other bioactive compounds found in a variety of foods contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of immune responses. Understanding the relationship between diet and immunity can empower individuals to make dietary choices that bolster their immune defenses. It will examine the roles of specific vitamins and minerals, such as vitamin C, vitamin D, zinc, and selenium, in immune function.
