Morbid obesity, defined as a body mass index (BMI) ≥40 kg/m2 or BMI ≥35 kg/m2 with obesity-related comorbidities, is associated with a myriad of physiological changes that can impact drug pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics [3]. Alterations in body composition, including increased adipose tissue and altered distribution of lean body mass, can affect drug volume of distribution, clearance, and bioavailability.
