1) Description of the country:

France a sovereign state including territory in Western Europe. The European part of France is called as the metropolitan France extending from Mediterranean Sea to English Channel and North Sea, and from the Rhine to Atlantic Ocean. France has a total population of 66.6 million. The capital of France is Paris with country’s largest city and main cultural and commercial centre. During the 19th and early 20th centuries, France possessed the second-largest colonial empire in the world. It is a developed country with the world's sixth-largest economy by nominal GDP and ninth-largest by purchasing power parity.

2) Geography of the country:

France is one of only three countries (with Morocco and Spain) to have both Atlantic and Mediterranean coastlines. Metropolitan France is situated mostly between latitudes 41° and 51° N, and longitudes 6° W and 10° E, on the western edge of Europe, and thus lies within the northern temperate zone. The territory of the French Republic consists of: French and Metropolitan regions a) Metropolitan regions: comprising the European territory of France, Corsica and minor coastal islands included b) Overseas regions: Guadeloupe, Martinique, Reunion, Mayotte and French Guiana. Due to its numerous overseas departments and territories scattered on all oceans of the planet, France possesses the second-largest Exclusive economic zone (EEZ) in the world, covering 11,035,000 km2 Metropolitan France has four broad climate zones: oceanic climate, semi-continental climate, Mediterranean climate, and mountain (or alpine) climate In the overseas regions, there are three broad types of climate: tropical climate, equatorial climate, and sub polar climate.

3)Status of economy, research and development:

France supports the scientific community in developing countries in order to build its capacity to meet the economic, environmental, social and cultural challenges of development. France’s external efforts to promote development research are an integral part of its Official Development Assistance (ODA). France provides support for African research platforms, such as the International Centre for Medical Research of France vile in Gabon and the Niamey Centre for Medical and Health Research (CERMES) in Niger, a member of the international network of Institutes Pasteur. France has implemented a series of economic plans, introduced to direct the post war recovery period but later expanded to provide for generally increasing governmental direction of the economy. It has the third-largest economy in Europe with Germany and the UK in 1st and 2nd. The chemical industry is a key sector for France, helping to develop other manufacturing activities and contributing to economic growth. France was the world's 20th country by GDP per capita with $44,099 per inhabitant.

4)Status about the different subjects in which extensive research is going on:

In 2013, the Ministry of Higher Education and Research developed a national gender action plan. As part of this action plan the Ministry decided to introduce gender provisions in the contracts it signs with each Higher Education and Research institution every five years, including concrete objectives and assessments. The French government in 2011 adopted a text ensuring that electoral rolls for university and research institution boards are drawn up with the objective of having gender-balanced representation. French universities and public research organisations have a publicly transparent and open recruitment policy based on merit and enshrined in a variety of statutes. The Journal of Pathology covers all aspects of surgical pathology, including classic diagnostic pathology, prognosis-related diagnosis. The journal also focuses on the technological aspects of pathology, including molecular biology techniques, morphometry aspects (stereology, DNA analysis, and syntactic structure analysis), communication aspects (telecommunication, virtual microscopy, virtual pathology institutions. in France includes a total of 79 journals with good citations thus we can easily conclude that France is developing in the field of pathological research and people are deeply interested in this domain of research.
