Abstract

Occupational safety and health (OSH) programs have traditionally focused on preventing physical injuries in the workplace, but the growing recognition of psychological disorders has led to an expanded view of worker well-being. This article explores the intersection of physical and psychological health within the context of occupational safety. It examines the types of physical and psychological disorders that can arise from workplace hazards, the importance of a comprehensive approach to employee health, and strategies for reducing both physical and psychological risks. The article discusses key elements of effective OSH programs, including hazard identification, risk assessment, and the integration of mental health support into traditional safety protocols. It concludes by highlighting the importance of adopting holistic approaches that address both physical and psychological health to ensure a safer, healthier workforce and improve overall organizational productivity.
