Argentina is known as federal republic country. It is situated in the southeastern South America. Argentina is one of the largest economies in Latin America with a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of more than US$ 540 billion. Argentina has focused on economic development with social inclusion. And it is the top performer in the region in reducing poverty and boosting shared prosperity between 2004 and 2008. Incomes of the bottom 40% grew at an annualized rate of 11.8% compared to average income growth of 7.6%. This trend continued but slowed after 2008. As of 2014, 12.7% lived in poverty – defined as living on under $4 a-day. The Government has announced plans to reduce the primary deficit to 4.8% of GDP by the end of this year, 3.3% by 2017, 1.8% by 2018 and 0.3% by 2019.
