Mexico's total area is 1,972,550 km2.

Mexico lies in the North American Plate, with small parts of the Baja California peninsula on the Pacific and Cocos Plates. Well known islands are located near the mexico some of them are Gulf of California, Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean, etc. Mexico shares a 3141 km border with the USA. Major of the Mexican central and northern territories are located at high altitudes, and the highest elevations.

Mexican economy is said to be the 15th largest in the world in nominal terms and the 11th largest by purchasing power parity. Mexico was majorly affected by the 2008 recession with its Gross Domestic Product contracting by more than 6% in case of Latin American countries. Foreign direct investment (FDI) and legislative support for the R&D industry, research and development revenue grows by 12% in 2013. Over 2013-2019, Research and Development industry revenue is predicted to increase by a CAGR of 7%, due to growing investment.
