Allergic sensitization may occur during contacting various allergens in the natural organics and artificial products. Exposure to allergic organics and products may elicit allergic skin reactions: an immediate type of anaphylaxis and/or urticaria and a delayed type of allergic contact dermatitis.

Until now, various case reports and case series of allergic sensitization from novel ingredients in new industrial and consumer products have been reported. The scientific reports have been prompting the manufacturers to eliminate sensitizers provoking frequent allergic reaction and/or severe clinical symptom from products. The adequate cycle provides better situation for people living in the world. We need to keep in mind that more victims may be sensitized if decision to eliminate the hazardous components is delayed.

Recently, very serious situation occurred in Japan. Many customers were sensitized to hydrolyze wheat protein (HWP) during soap-use containing the protein. In the sensitized persons, wheat-dependent exercise induced anaphylaxis (WDEIA) is induced by the combination of wheat ingestion and physical exercise. More than 1,300 persons were sensitized to HWP and show clinical symptom of WDEIA, because the soap containing HWP (Cha no shizuku) was very popular from March, 2004 to September, 2010 [1]. Recently, Chinuki and Morita [2] summarized the review of WDEIA after sensitization with HPP in soap. The review is extremely important for worldwide scientists, manufacturers and customers.

In the near future, more new products containing innovative components will be supplied by manufacturers. Pre-examination such as patch testing is indispensable before supplying products, especially skin-care and hair-care products. Monitoring and accumulation of allergic case series is essential for protection from hazardous products. Journal of Bioterrorism & Biodefense is one of best journals for scientists, manufacturers and costumers to protect incidences of allergic disorders from various substances, especially natural and modified organics.
