Antiemetics

It is a drug that is used for treating side effects of opioid analgesics and general anesthetics. They are also used as recovery drugs against chemotherapy directed medication against cancer.

Related Journals: Journal of Vascular Medicine & Surgery, Journal of Patient Care, Research & Innovation in Anesthesia.

Vasoactive Agents

vasoactive agents are drugs that are either used for increasing the heart rate or decreasing the heart rate. This is achieved by vasodilation and vasoconstriction. This helps in keeping the hemodynamics under control. For example: histamine, bradykinin, angiotensin etc.

Related Journals: Journal of Vascular Medicine & Surgery, , Journal of Patient Care.

Local Anesthetics

These are a group of anesthetics that obstruct the nerve pathways and can cause loss of muscle power. Clinically aminoamide and amino ester local anesthetics are used by physicians.

Related Journals: Journal of Pain & Relief, Journal of Patient Care, Acta Anaesthesiologica Taiwanica.

Anxiolytics

These are a class of anesthetics that are used to relieve anxiety in patients. They are often referred to as minor tranquilizers. Carbamates, antihistamines, barbiturates etc. are some of the example of anxiolytics.

Related Journals: Journal of Pain & Relief, Journal of Patient Care, Pathos.

Muscle Relaxants

A muscle relaxant is a drug that decreases residual muscle tension and affects skeletal muscles. Neuromuscular blockers and spasmolytic are the two groups of muscle relaxants that are administered in intensive care and medical emergencies to cause temporary loss of muscle function.

Related Journals: Journal of Pain & Relief, Journal of Patient Care, Journal on Recent Advances in Pain, Journal on Recent Advances in Pain, Journal on Recent Advances in Pain.

Anesthesia

Anesthesia is the practice of inducing insensitivity to pain by the administration of gases or drugs before a surgical procedure. Anesthesia leads to a state of loss of sensitivity in the body. Anesthesia can be general or local in nature depending on the surgical procedure. An anesthetist is a physician who practices administration of anesthetics for medical procedures.

Related Journals: Journal of Anesthesia & Clinical Research, Journal of Surgery and Anesthesia, Pain, British Journal of Anesthesia, Anesthesiology, Palliative Medicine, Journal of Pain and Symptom Management.

Pediatric Anesthesia

It is a branch of anesthesiology that deals with the anesthesia for infants, children, neonates etc. A pediatric anaesthesiologist specialises in administering anaesthesia to infants and children undergoing minor and major surgeries
