Vanderlei Salvador Bagnato

Biography

Dr. Vanderlei Salvador Bagnato completed a Bachelor's Degree in Physics - USP, and Materials Engineering - UFSCar in 1981 and a Ph.D. in Physics - Massachusetts Institute of Technology - MIT in 1987. He is currently a full professor at the University of São Paulo, and director of the Institute of Physics of São Carlos. Published about 700 articles in specialized journals. He works in the field of Atomic Physics and Applications of Optics in Health Sciences. He works with cold atoms, Bose-Einstein Condensates, and photodynamic actions in cancer and microbiological control.
