Victor holds a PhD in Agricultural Economics from the Justus Liebig University Giessen, Germany and leads AVRDC - The World Vegetable Center’s Consumption Research and Development Theme from his base in Tanzania, Africa. He has extensive experience in performance monitoring and impact assessment of horticultural value chains on smallholder livelihoods and managing multi-country projects and coordinating multidisciplinary research in horticultural value chains as well as international experience in integrated economic-biophysical optimization modeling of agricultural water use. He has rich and varied research and project management experiences in several countries in sub-Saharan Africa and Asia where he emphasizes on proactive planning processes to attain set deliverables. His current research and project management experiences focuses on assessing opportunities and challenges in vegetable production systems, analyzing constraints in the value chain, and policy in interdisciplinary context. He also has expertise in developing agribusiness initiatives by thriving on collaborative and participatory processes. Prior to joining the Center in 2010, he worked as the Monitoring, Evaluation (M&E) and Impact Specialist for the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture in Ghana, where he implemented the M&E framework of the Sustainable Tree Crops Program. Victor came to his current position from an academic background where he taught and researched diverse courses in agricultural and economic development thinking and practice. He remains connected to academia as an adjunct Professor at the University of Applied Management in Ghana where teaches International Cooperation & Development and Project Management.
