Biography

Xiaodong Zhang is an Associate Professor of Earth System Science and Policy University of North Dakota Research, Fellow at Northern Great Plains Center for People and the Environment. He received a MSc and a Ph D both in Oceanography from Dalhousie University Halifax Canada in 1998 and 2002 respectively. He is a senior member of Optical Society of America He is an invited reviewers of 7 reputed journals and has over 40 publications.

Research Interest

Xiaodong research Interests include Theory and applications of scintillometer, Remote sensing based modeling of surface energy and humidity flux. Ocean Optics and Ocean Color in general. Molecular and particle scattering in particular. Inversion of optical measurements to derive the particle size and index spectra. Web-based Geographic Information System for Earth Science Climate change and its impact on the hydrologic cycle.
