Biography

GianLuca Colussi main role is to be an assistant professor of medicine specializing in hypertension, cardiovascular disease prevention, general internal medicine, and a few other areas, which includes glucose and lipid metabolism, also doing clinical and experimental research, working as a doctor in the internal medicine division.

He also has several laboratory experiences, he spent more than one year in the Giuseppe Lembo’s lab at the IRCCS Neuromed, Pozzilli IS, in Italy, working on experimental models of hypertension and the biology of vascular system. He then spent about two years as a post-doc in the David Pearce’s lab at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) in USA working on the biology of the hormone aldosterone and the renal regulation of sodium and blood pressure. As an assistant professor of medicine, he teaches students about endocrinology, internal and cardiovascular medicine.

He has publications in the area of human and experimental hypertension, endocrinology, and cardiovascular disease.
