Indonesia is a country in Southeast Asia. Situated between the Indian and Pacific Ocean, it is the largest island country, with more than thirteen thousand islands. It has an estimated population of over 258 million people and is the world's fourth most populous country as well as the most populous Muslim majority country. The world's most populous island of Java contains more than half of the country's population.
Indonesia is an archipelagic island country in South East Asia, lying between the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean. It is in a strategic location astride or along major sea lanes from Indian Ocean to Pacific Ocean. Indonesia's different cultures have been shaped—although not specifically determined—by centuries of complex interactions with the physical environment.
Indonesia has the largest economy in Southeast Asia and is one of the emerging market economies of the world. The country is also a member of G-20 major economies and classified as a newly industrialised country. It is the sixteenth largest economy in the world by nominal GDP and is the eighth largest in terms of GDP (PPP). Indonesia still depends on domestic market, and government budget spending and its ownership of state-owned enterprises (the central government owns 141 enterprises) and the administration of prices of a range of basic goods including, rice, and electricity plays a significant role in Indonesia market economy, but since the 1990s, 80 percent of the economy has been controlled by private Indonesians and foreign companies. Indonesia’s research and development revenue grows by 15% driven by the rising investment in research and development activities and government support. Local research and development providers rely heavily on foreign clients, since they generate 17% of total output in 2014. Total costs increase at a slower pace than overall revenue, thus impacting the growing profitability level in the industry. Over the period 2014-2020, the industry is anticipated to be driven by growing foreign direct investment (FDI) and continuing government incentives to boost R&D operations in country.
Nursing Journals has been published on physical, chemical, biological and geological oceanography research of the Indonesian and its adjacent waters e.g., Indian and West Pacific Oceans.
