Abstract

Aneurysmal bone cysts are a benign tumor of the bone, most commonly seen in the tibia, femur, and humerus. Cases of aneurysmal bone cysts in the foot, although rare, have been reported several times. To our knowledge, no case of aneurysmal bone cysts in the phalanx of a toe has been reported. We report a case of a primary benign bone tumor in the distal phalanx of the first toe in a 25-year-old male who presented with swelling and pain localized to the distal portion of his left first toe fourteen months ago. En bloc resection was performed, and subsequent microscopy revealed aneurysmal bone cyst.
