Abstract

Invasive species are non-native organisms that, once introduced into new environments, can disrupt local ecosystems and cause significant harm to biodiversity. These species often thrive in unfamiliar habitats, outcompeting native species for resources, altering habitats, and introducing diseases that threaten the balance of the ecosystem. Human activities, such as global trade, transportation, and land development, have facilitated the spread of invasive species, which in turn destabilize ecosystems and reduce the resilience of native flora and fauna. This abstract explores the detrimental impacts of invasive species on biodiversity, detailing how they threaten native species, disrupt ecological processes, and undermine ecosystem services. It also addresses the urgent need for effective management strategies to prevent the spread of invasive species and protect the integrity of ecosystems worldwide.
