Biography
Dr. Bowers is an Assistant Professor in the Communication Disorders program at the University of Arkansas. He teaches graduate courses in fluency disorders, neurogenic communication disorders, and research methodology. He is the director of the Neurorehabilitation Laboratory located in the Epley Center Speech and Hearing clinic. His current research program focuses on the interface between motor and sensory brain rhythms supporting processes in speech perception and speech motor control. In the field of fluency disorders, his research has addressed the areas of autonomic arousal, eye-to-face gaze, and the locus of dysfluencies in adults who stutter. His clinical interests include the treatment of fluency disorders in adults and children.
