Biography
Dr. Kiran Chinthapally obtained his Ph.D. in 2015 for his work in the studies directed towards the synthesis of biologically active molecules. After his Ph.D., Kiran moved to the University of Oklahoma as a postdoctoral research associate, his research focused on the carbene-initiated synthesis of medium-sized heterocycles. Currently, he is working as a Staff Scientist in the Chemical Synthesis and Drug Discovery laboratory at the University of Notre Dame. Presently, he is working on synthesis of SPHK2 inhibitors, HSP90 inhibitors, and chemical probes for Niemann Pick C (NPC) disease.
Research Interest
Experience in handling analytical instruments: HPLC, LC-MS, FT NMR, Mass spectrometry, Polarimeter, Infra-Red spectrometer. Experience in independent planning, designing and executing synthetic routes. Exposure to a range of versatile reagents and chiral compound separations. Expertise in documentation and writing scientific articles. Proficiency in usage of Scifinder/Reaxys search engines.
