Biography
Dr. Wonwoo Byun completed Ph.D. degree in the Department of Exercise Science in Arnold School of Public Health at the University of South Carolina, specializing in Health Aspect of Physical Activity. He earned his first MS degree in Exercise Nutrition at Kyoungpook National University in South Korea and second MS degree in Community Health Education at Ball State University in USA. He is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Health, Nutrition, and Exercise Sciences at North Dakota State University. Prior to the current position, Dr. Byun was a faculty in Clinical Exercise Physiology in the Human Performance Laboratory at Ball State University.
Research Interest
Dr. Byun is a physical activity epidemiologist and his research interests include investigating: (1) effect of physical activity and nutrition on various health outcomes, (2) physical activity, fitness, and sedentary behavior in relation to metabolic risk factors, obesity and other health outcomes, (3) developing and implementing interventions to promote physical activity and healthy eating.
