Biography
Dr. Vino T Cheriyan born in Thrissur, India, after completed his masters in Biotechnology from Periyar University, Salem, India Dr. Cheriyan obtained his Ph.D. from Division of Cancer Research, Regional Cancer Centre, Kerala University, India entitled “Treatment Response in Oral Cancer Patients In Relation To T-Lymphocyte Functions” and did his post-doctoral training at the Division of Cancer Research, Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, India in production in Development of High Specific and High Affinity monoclonal antibodies. Currently Dr. Cheriyan doing his post doc at Karmanos Cancer Centre, Wayne State University, Detroit, MI in CARP-1/CCAR1 regulated cell-growth inhibitory and apoptosis-promoting signal transduction. Dr. Cheriyans research interests include molecular mechanisms of drug resistance, stress signaling and apoptosis. His work mainly focusing on how signal transduction mechanisms can be targeted for therapy.
