Abstract
Some physical-chemical parameters like water temperature, pH, suspended solid, salinity, dissolved oxygen, NO2-, NO3-, NH3, and PO34-were investigated at the mannapad estury underr varying tidal conditions during monsoon, postmonsoon and premonsoon. The pH and salinity increased during monsoon season. Concentrations of DO, inorganic PO3-4 and NO-2 increased during ebb regime and a increased trend was observed starting from monsoon to premonsoon which indicate high indicates high productivity towards the confluence with Bay.NO-3 is increased in the after monsoon season. Higher values of ammonia during premonsoon particularly during low tides may be attributed to the discharge of untreated domestic sewage and industrial effluents to the estuary. Shellfish were collected in many species
