The effect of gender and experience on nurse锟絪 aggression towards patients in University of Nigeria

Abstract
This study presents the determination of the effect of gender and experience on nurses锟� aggression towards patient in UNNTH (University of Nigeria Nsukka Teaching Hospital) Enugu, Nigeria. Sixty one subjects (nurses) were found within the hospital environment, 41 female, 31 married, 20 male, single 30, 26 junior staff and 25 senior staff. A structured questionnaire on a 5-point scale was used in data collection while independent standard deviation mean score were used for data analysis. It was hypothesized that female nurses will be more aggressive to patients than male nurses in UNNTH (University of Nigeria Nsukka Teaching Hospital) Enugu, Nigeria. Nurses who are single will show more aggression to patient than nurses who are married. Nurses who are junior staff will show more aggression than nurses who are senior staff.

Uchenna Charity Onwuamaegbu-Ugwu has completed her Bachelor Degree at the age of 24 years from Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka Nigeria. She is a counselor in St Rita锟絪 Nursery and Primary School, Obosi, Nigeria.
