Biography

Andrew Keay is Professor of Corporate and Commercial Law in the Centre for Business Law and Practice, School of Law at the University of Leeds, UK and is a barrister practising from Kings Chambers in the company and insolvency law fields. He holds a doctorate from the University of Queensland. Andrew teaches corporate law, corporate governance and insolvency law at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He has taught at several universities in Australia, been a partner of an Australian law firm and a Deputy Registrar of the Federal Court of Australia. Andrew has authored many books including McPherson’s Law of Company Liquidation, 3rd ed (2013) The Enlightened Shareholder Value Principle and Corporate Governance (2012), The Corporate Objective (2011) and Directors’ Duties (2009) and numerous articles. He is the Commonwealth Editor for Gore-Browne on Companies. His work has been cited by courts in England, Scotland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa and Hong Kong.
