Dr. Ali-Fehmi is a Professor of Pathoogy and GYN Oncology at Wayne State University. Her consultation expertise is focused in ovarian and uterine pathology. She is the Director of Surgical Pathology Fellowship at Wayne State University, School of Medicine. She also serves as the Co-Director of the Gynecology Oncology Multidisciplinary Conference at the Karmanos Cancer Institute. Dr. Ali-Fehmi has been interested in the histopathology and biological characteristics of ovarian and uterine malignancy. She has been actively involved in multiple clinical trials as an expert pathologist. Dr. Ali-Fehmi is also interested in genetic changes and expression profiling of markers for the diagnosis and prognosis of ovarian carcinoma. Dr. Ali-Fehmi is currently an investigator on several funded research projects that involve underlying molecular mechanisms of ovarian tumor progression and metastasis. Moreover, Dr. Ali-Fehmi has collaborated with nationally recognized institutions on endometroid and serous carcinoma. She is the Co-Investigator for the Susan G. Komen Grant, which is evaluating risk factors in women with beningn breast disease. Since the beginning of her career, she has mentored many gynecologic oncology and pathology fellows in both clinical and research. She has close to 100 peer reviewed publications and numerous presentations, both at national and international meetings. Furthermore, she has received multiple honors such as Recognition Award for Significant Contributions to the GYN/ Oncology fellows Teaching.
