Abstract

In an era where clinical evidence is growing exponentially, the pharmacist?s emerging role as a medication management expert requires a solid grounding in evidence-based practice. Training for health care providers needs to start at the undergraduate level, and continue throughout a health care provider?s education. But even for practicing health care provider, short, intensive workshops can make a meaningful difference. And when health care providers practice in an evidence-based way, they can feel comfortable they?re bringing the best science to bear on their daily patient care practice. My presentation will discuss in details the clinical knowledge needs that will help pushing health care provider towards public health and evidence based daily practice.

Biography

Abduelmula R. Abduelkarem holds a proud Ph.D. in clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy practice from Sunderland University (UK, 2005), MPhil in clinical pharmacy from Welsh School of Pharmacy (Cardiff, UK, 1996), a postgraduate certificate in clinical pharmacokinetics from University of Minnesota-University of Malta during the year of 1998, and a bachelor degree in pharmacy from Tripoli University, Libya, 1985. He had been appointed for the deanship position of the College of Pharmacy, Ajman University of Science and Technology (AUST) during the academic year of 2011/2012. He had also been the head of the Executive Committee of the Scientific Association of the Colleges of Pharmacy in the Arab World for the 14 th Annual Congress of the Association. Additionally, he chaired the department of clinical pharmacy and the central training committee of the college of pharmacy, AUST since 1999. He has published more than 30 papers in reputed journals, 3 Textbooks, and serving as an editorial board member of Tripolitana Medical Journal, Published by University of Tripoli, Libya.
