Marlene Oscar-Berman
Biography
Marlene is a Professor of Psychiatry, Neurology, and Anatomy & Neurobiology, and a Research Career Scientist at the Veterans Affairs (VA) Boston Healthcare System at Boston University. She has studied many neurobehavioral disorders, but most work has involved brain mechanisms underlying impairments in chronic alcoholics with and without Korsakoff’s syndrome. The work has been funded by NIAAA (since 1981) and the VA (since 1970), and awards from Sigma Xi, the Fulbright Foundation, the MA Neuropsychological Society, the Research Society on Alcoholism. She has been a mentor to nearly 100 talented students and an author on more than 200 professional publications.
Research Interest
Her research interests reflects Declinol, a Complex Containing Kudzu, Bitter Herbs (Gentian, Tangerine Peel) and Bupleurum, Significantly Reduced Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT) Scores in Moderate to Heavy Drinkers:. Her research also includes Holistic Addiction Treatment, Heroin Addiction Treatment, Alcohol Rehabilitation, Alcohol Addiction Treatment, Drug Addiction Treatment, Drug Rehabilitation. She is the Editorial Board Member of - Journal of Addiction Research & Therapy and serves as a member of various associations, apart from being an author for many books.
