Biography
Dr. Ilana S. Hairston received his PhD in Neuroscience at Stanford University during the period of 1998-2004. Currently, she is working as Research Assistant Professor in Psychiatry at the University of Michigan. She has authored 15 research articles/books, and is a member of the Sleep Research Society, Research Society on Alcoholism, and the Society for Neuroscience. She has received several honors and awards including a merit award for teaching at Stanford University, and Travel Awards for Excellence in research from the Society of Neuroscience and the Society for Sleep Research
Research Interest
Neural mechanisms underlying sleep regulation, Mechanisms of transdiagnostic symptomatology of sleep disruption in addiction and insomnia, Long-term implications of sleep disruption in trajectory of addiction-related behaviors.
