He has authored 11 research articles, several of them together with undergraduate students as co-authors He is serving as a review editor for the Journal Frontiers in Aquatic Physiology and reviewed manuscripts for many leading journals such as the Journal of Experimental Biology, Marine Ecology Progress Series, Biological Bulletin, and others. He also reviewed grant proposals for NSF and NOAA and served on an NSF review panel. He is a member of the American Physiological Society and the Mount Desert Island Corporation.

Research Interest

His research interest is invertebrate stress physiology. In his research he applies methods of physiology and molecular biology to elucidate cellular mechanisms that limit tolerance of temperature, salinity or hypoxia stress. Temperature thresholds and adaptation in marine invertebrates, regulation of energy metabolism under stress.
