Biography

Dr. Cucciare received his PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2006. After completing his clinical internship at the Veteran Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS), he completed a two year research fellowship in Health Services Research at the Center for Health Care Evaluation, VAPAHCS and Stanford University School of Medicine. He is currently working as a Research Scientist at the Center for Health Care Evaluation and was recently awarded a five year VA Health Services Research and Development Career Development Award – II. His primary research interest is on using technology to implement evidence-based mental health practices in primary care with an emphasis on brief alcohol interventions. He is currently conducting multiple grant funded studies including a clinical trial to examine the effectiveness of a web-based brief alcohol intervention for reducing heavy drinking in veterans. He has authored numerous peer reviewed articles, chapters, and books.
