Biography

Neil Karrow is currently being employed as Associate professor at University of Guelph. He completed his PhD in 1998 in Biology. His main expertise is under Animal & Poultry Sciences. My current research focusses on animal health related issues including inflammation and immunoregulation that is mediated through the hypothalamic-pituitary adrenal (HPA). This research will utilize tissue culture, host-resistance models, immune function assays, and molecular techniques such as gene and protein expression profiling to study HPA-immune interaction and inflammatory processes. He has his papers published inn several reputed refereed journals.

Research Interest

Limmunomodulation, toxicology and comparative immunology of livestock species. Past research has focused on studying immune response genes in cattle that may be associated with susceptibility/resistance to disease, and pharmacological and pollutant-induced immunomodulation in fish, rodents, swine, poultry and cattle.
