Abstract
Various forms of cancers have been a treat to human and animal health since ancient times. Hundreds of different types of cancers that befall humans and animals are recognized. Multifarious causes and predisposing factors are associated to and incriminated as the causes of different types of cancers. Gargantuan industrial developments, excessive use of pesticides and carcinogen chemicals in various uses on humans and animals have severely polluted our environment. Humans have used traditional as well as sophisticated modern medicine and technology to treat cancer. However, cancer remains among major portents to human and animal health. Cancer associated mortality and morbidity are mounting each year.Tens of millions of new cases emerge and several millions of animals and humans die of cancer each year. Cancer treatment incurs insurmountable economic losses. Innumerable scientists are engaged in cancer research in various laboratories throughout the worldto find a better treatment to humans and animals. Cancer associated societal consequences are daunting phenomenon of our day-to-day lives. The current global impact of cancer on humans and animals in general and future trends in cancer treatment and control is discussed.
Biography
Moges Woldemeskel is teaching research over 23 years and his diagnostic experiences at various universities in Europe, Africa, and USA, has published over 45 articles in peer reviewed professional journals. He is working as Associate Professor, Section Head, Histopathology and Necropsy, TVDIL, The College of Veterinary Medicine, The University of Georgia, USA.
