Biography
Rao N. Jaladanki is an Assistant Professor, Department of Surgery, University of Maryland School of Medicine; Research Health Scientist at VA Maryland Health Care System, Baltimore, MD. He has received a Ph.D. in Endocrinology from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati, AP, India in, 1985-1992. He was a recipient of the Rockefeller Foundation Fellowship Award in 1993. He is currently serving as a reviewer for several scientific journals and published ~65 research articles in various peer-reviewed journals.
Research Interest
Rao N. Jaladanki research interests include cellular and molecular mechanisms of gastrointestinal (GI) mucosal healing, cellular signal in maintenance of gut epithelial integrity, epithelial cell renewal, growth arrest, and apoptosis K+ channels, TRP channels, and intracellular Ca2+ in GI epithelial cells Cytoskeleton and intercellular junctions in epithelial cells, and role of Cellular Polyamines in GI mucosal homeostasis.
