Abstract

Very low flood or no flood at all leading to drying up of River Nile will affects the life of people in Egypt. To our knowledge Egypt suffer three time of drying up of River Nile. The first one in ancient Egyptian ages about 4000 years ago, where no floods for seven years but Yusuf, peace be upon him, know that before it happened and save Egypt. Second one for seven years also began 1064 AD, plants and animals died and people had killed each other and feed upon their bodies. Third time after the construction of the high dam for three years in 1982, but we rely on the stored water of Lake Nasser but east African countries suffer too much from the drying up of River Nile and shortage of rains in flood seasons. So we have to prepare our self for the future shortage of water either due to changes in climate which affect the flood seasons or due to constructions of dams in upper Nile countries. By water saving policy in our cities, we can face the water shortage disaster in the future. Availability of fresh water for domestic use now will be a big problem in the near future. It is also energy consuming specially in desalination projects. With some modifications on water pipes (Plumping) in houses, hotels and governmental buildings, we can save about 50% of domestic water by reusing it in other purposes in our life.
