Biography
Dr. Sebastiano Mercadante was born in 1955. He has finished his Doctors degree (Medicine & Surgery) in 1973-1979 with full marks, 110/110 cum laude, University of Palermo. Currently, he is working as Director of Anesthesia & Intensive Care Unit, Pain Relief & Palliative Care Unit, La Maddalena Clinic for Cancer, Palermo, Italy and Professor of Palliative Medicine at University of Palermo.
Research Interest
Dr. Sebastiano Mercadante research interest includes opioid switching, opioid pharmacokinetics, breakthrough pain, bowel obstruction, opioid toxicity and possible alternative therapies.
