Interventional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a novel technology exploiting the superior imaging aspects of MRI
in the guidance a spectrum of minimally invasive interventional procedures. In addition to the superior imaging abilities
afforded by MRI, the ability to measure the physiologic consequences of an intervention during the procedure is also possible.
A broad range of interventional MRI procedures is possible, including:
Vascular interventions Non-vascular interventions
Gastrointestinal procedures Genitourinary procedures
Image-guided drug delivery Image-guided gene delivery
Magnetically targeted carrier treatments Magnetic catheter manipulation
Interventional MRI allows for minimally invasive, image-giuded procedures to be performed in a safer and more efficacious
manner.
