Abstract
A pilot study was conducted among battery workers with high blood lead levels, in Mangalore, India to compare the effectiveness of using Indigenous vs. Factory made ACF masks. The study was conducted for 7 workers with high blood lead levels. Their blood levels showed a relative decrease with indigenous ACF masks. Later, factory made ACF masks were used by the same workers. Results indicate that the indigenous ACF masks were relatively more effective in reducing blood lead levels.
